Live Dashboards

Build a live dashboard in Claude

Tell Claude what you want to see. It builds a page of numbers and charts from the apps you already use, like Gmail, your CRM, or QuickBooks, and pulls fresh numbers every time you open it.

You need a paid Claude plan (Pro or higher) and Claude on the web or the desktop app. Steps 1 to 3 are one time only. Steps 8 to 15 are eight more dashboards to copy: build the ones that fit your business.
(1)
Step 1 of 15 · One time only

Turn on two settings

Open Settings, then Capabilities. Make sure Artifacts and Run code in the cloud are both switched on (blue).

🔗 Open Capabilities claude.aiOpen → Claude Settings, Capabilities: the Artifacts and Run code in the cloud switches turned on
1
Claude builds dashboards with code, so it needs both switches on.
2
On a Team or Enterprise plan, the account owner controls these. Ask them to also turn on artifact connectors.
(2)
Step 2 of 15 · One time only

Connect your first app

Click Customize in the left sidebar, then Connectors. Click Gmail, then Connect, and sign in with the email you want on your dashboard.

🔗 Open Connectors claude.aiOpen → Claude Customize page with the Connectors tab and the Gmail connector marked
1
Use Outlook? Search the connectors for Outlook or Microsoft 365. The steps are the same.
2
Already connected? Click Yours and check it’s the right account. Claude only sees the inbox you signed in with.
(3)
Step 3 of 15 · One time only

Let Claude read without asking

Click Yours, then Gmail. Under Tool permissions, set Read-only tools to Always allow.

Gmail tool permissions: Read-only tools set to Always allow, Write/delete tools set to Needs approval
1
This is the step people miss. A dashboard can only use tools set to Always allow. Skip it and your dashboard opens with empty boxes.
2
Leave Write/delete tools on Needs approval. Nothing gets sent or deleted without you.
3
Do this for every app you connect later.
(4)
Step 4 of 15

Open a blank dashboard

Click Artifacts in the left sidebar. Under Make something new, click Dashboard.

🔗 Open Artifacts claude.aiOpen → Claude Artifacts page with the Artifacts sidebar item and the Dashboard tile marked
1
A blank dashboard opens and asks What should this dashboard show?
A blank dashboard asking What should this dashboard show, with the Reply box marked
(5)
Step 5 of 15

Paste the Inbox prompt

Copy this, paste it in the Reply box, and press Enter.

Build me a live dashboard called "Inbox Command Center" using my connected Gmail.

Across the top, show four numbers: emails waiting on my reply, threads I've answered this week, my average reply time, and how many days the oldest unanswered email has been waiting.

Below that:
- Every email waiting on me, oldest first, with the sender, subject, and how long it's been sitting. Highlight anything older than 2 days.
- A day-by-day chart of emails received vs. emails I replied to for the last 14 days.
- My top 10 senders this month.

Skip newsletters, receipts, and automated notifications.

Rules: real data only, never sample or made-up numbers. It's read-only: never send, edit, or delete anything. Add a refresh button and show when the data was last refreshed. If an app fails to load, say which one instead of showing a zero.
1
Claude takes a few minutes. Then it asks to use Gmail. Leave the switch on and click Continue.
The This artifact uses connectors box with Gmail switched on and the Continue button marked
(6)
Step 6 of 15

Check it, then change it

Check one number against your real inbox. Then tell Claude what to change, one note at a time. Paste any of these:

Only count emails from real people that ask me something or need an answer.
Add a button that blurs every number so I can share my screen.
Put anything older than 2 days in red at the very top.
Use my brand colors: [#hex] for the background and [#hex] for the highlights.
1
Wrong number? Say what’s wrong in plain words, like: The waiting count is 3, not 12.
(7)
Step 7 of 15

Refresh it, share it, find it

Click Refresh for the latest numbers. Click Share at the top right to send it to someone. To open it later, click Artifacts in the left sidebar.

A finished Inbox Command Center dashboard with the Refresh and Share buttons marked
1
Live means fresh every time you open it or click Refresh. It doesn’t tick by the second.
2
When someone opens a dashboard you shared, it reads from their connected apps. They see their own numbers, never yours.
3
Next: eight more dashboards. Same steps each time. Connect the app, set it to Always allow, open a blank dashboard, paste the prompt.

Step 8 of 15 · Optional

Revenue Pulse

Your sales, laid out the way you want to see them, not the way Stripe does.

Connect first: Stripe (Steps 2 and 3)
Build me a live dashboard called "Revenue Pulse" using my connected Stripe account.

Across the top, show four numbers, each with the percent change vs. last month: monthly recurring revenue (MRR), revenue this month so far, new customers this month, and customers who canceled this month.

Below that:
- MRR by month for the last 12 months, as a line chart.
- New customers vs. canceled customers by month, side by side.
- Revenue by product, biggest first.
- My 10 most recent payments, plus every failed payment I need to chase.

Rules: real data only, never sample or made-up numbers. It's read-only: never send, edit, or delete anything. Add a refresh button and show when the data was last refreshed. If an app fails to load, say which one instead of showing a zero.
(9)
Step 9 of 15 · Optional

Churn vs. Retention

Same Stripe data, different question: are customers staying?

Connect first: Stripe (Steps 2 and 3)
Build me a live dashboard called "Churn vs. Retention" using my connected Stripe account.

Across the top, show: active customers, churn rate this month, average customer lifetime in months, and average revenue per customer.

Below that:
- Active customers over the last 12 months, showing customers gained and lost each month.
- A retention table by signup month: what percent of each month's new customers are still paying.
- Customers who canceled in the last 30 days, with what they were paying.
- Customers with a failed payment right now, so I can reach out before they're gone.

If a number could be read two ways, add a one-line note under it.

Rules: real data only, never sample or made-up numbers. It's read-only: never send, edit, or delete anything. Add a refresh button and show when the data was last refreshed. If an app fails to load, say which one instead of showing a zero.
(10)
Step 10 of 15 · Optional

Profit and Cash

One page that answers: am I making money, and how long does my cash last?

Connect first: QuickBooks (Steps 2 and 3)
Build me a live dashboard called "Profit and Cash" using my connected QuickBooks.

Across the top, show: cash in the bank today, net profit this month, net profit year to date, and cash runway in months (cash divided by my average monthly spending over the last 3 full months).

Below that:
- Revenue vs. expenses by month for the last 12 months, with a profit line.
- My top 10 expense categories this year, biggest first.
- Unpaid invoices that are overdue: who owes what and how many days late.
- Any expense category up more than 20% vs. last month, flagged in red.

Show the formula behind any calculated number in a small note.

Rules: real data only, never sample or made-up numbers. It's read-only: never send, edit, or delete anything. Add a refresh button and show when the data was last refreshed. If an app fails to load, say which one instead of showing a zero.
1
It’s only as good as your books. Use it to spot things fast, and check anything big with your bookkeeper.
(11)
Step 11 of 15 · Optional

Calendar Time Audit

See where your week really goes, and win back time to focus.

Connect first: Google Calendar (Steps 2 and 3), or your Outlook calendar
Build me a live dashboard called "Calendar Time Audit" using my connected Google Calendar.

My work hours are 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday to Friday.

Across the top, show for this week: hours in meetings, hours of focus time (open blocks of 90 minutes or more during work hours), open hours left, and number of meetings.

Below that:
- Meeting hours vs. focus hours by week for the last 8 weeks.
- My busiest and lightest day of the week.
- The people and recurring meetings taking the most of my time this month.
- Three ideas for getting time back, based on what you actually see in my calendar.

Count all-day events and personal blocks separately so they don't count as meetings.

Rules: real data only, never sample or made-up numbers. It's read-only: never send, edit, or delete anything. Add a refresh button and show when the data was last refreshed. If an app fails to load, say which one instead of showing a zero.
1
Different work hours? Change 9 AM to 5 PM in the prompt before you paste.
(12)
Step 12 of 15 · Optional

Pipeline Pulse

Every lead, every stage, and who’s slipping through the cracks. We use Follow Up Boss here, but it works with any CRM you can connect to Claude.

Connect first: Follow Up Boss. It isn’t in the connector list, so follow stringersteps.com/followupboss, then set it to Always allow (Step 3).
Build me a live dashboard called "Pipeline Pulse" using my connected Follow Up Boss.

Across the top, show: new leads this week, new leads nobody has called, texted, or emailed yet, appointments set this month, and deals under contract right now.

Below that:
- New leads by source for the last 90 days, biggest source first.
- My leads by stage, as a funnel from new lead to closed.
- Leads with no call, text, or email in the last 7 days, newest lead first.
- Closings expected in the next 60 days, with the address, price, and closing date.

If Follow Up Boss doesn't track something, say so on the dashboard instead of guessing.

Rules: real data only, never sample or made-up numbers. It's read-only: never send, edit, or delete anything. Add a refresh button and show when the data was last refreshed. If an app fails to load, say which one instead of showing a zero.
1
Different CRM? Swap Follow Up Boss for its name in the prompt. Search the connectors for it first.
(13)
Step 13 of 15 · Optional

AI Visibility Scorecard

When someone asks AI for the best agent in your town, are you named? Claude searches the web for 5 of those questions and keeps score weekly.

Connect first: nothing. It uses Claude’s web search.

Swap every [bracket] for your details before you paste.

Build me a dashboard called "AI Visibility Scorecard" that checks whether AI recommends me.

About me: [Your name], [your brokerage], real estate agent in [City, State]. My website is [yourwebsite.com].

Run the first check now, here in our chat, using live web search. Ask these 5 questions the way a home buyer or seller would ask an AI assistant:
1. Who is the best real estate agent in [City]?
2. Who should I hire to sell my house in [City]?
3. Which [City] agent is best for first-time buyers?
4. Who are the top-rated real estate agents near [City]?
5. Which [City] agent knows [your neighborhood or specialty] best?

For each question, show: whether my name or website appears (yes or no), which agents get named instead, and the sources the answer used.

Across the top, show my score (how many of the 5 name me), the agent named most often, and the date of the last check.

Save every check in the dashboard so I can see my score over time as a line chart. Add a "Run check" button that copies the message I send you here to run the next check. Real results only, never made up.
1
Dashboards can’t search the web on their own, so the check runs in the chat. Next week, click Run check, paste the message it copies into the same chat, and press Enter. Your chart gets a new point.
2
Want it hands-off? Ask Claude: Run this check every Monday morning.
3
This is Claude’s own search. ChatGPT or Google’s AI can answer differently, so watch the trend, not one week.
4
Not showing up? Start with stringersteps.com/botcheck to make sure AI can read your website.

Step 14 of 15 · Optional

Morning Cockpit

The one screen you open with your coffee. It pulls from every app you’ve connected.

Connect first: Any of Gmail, Google Calendar, Follow Up Boss, Stripe, QuickBooks (Steps 2 and 3)
Build me a live dashboard called "Morning Cockpit" that pulls from all my connected apps: Gmail, Google Calendar, Follow Up Boss, Stripe, and QuickBooks.

Put the one thing that needs me most today at the very top, in one sentence.

Then, in this order:
1. Today: every meeting and appointment on my calendar, with the time and who it's with.
2. Waiting on me: emails I haven't answered and new leads nobody has contacted.
3. Money: revenue yesterday and this month, and cash in the bank.
4. Heads up: anything that needs action today, like a failed payment, an overdue invoice, or a closing this week.

If one of these apps isn't connected, show a small "not connected" card for it instead of a blank or a zero. Keep it to one screen I can scan in 60 seconds.

It's read-only: never send, edit, or delete anything. Add a refresh button and show when the data was last refreshed.
1
Don’t use one of these apps? Delete it from the prompt. The rest still work.
2
Five apps at once is the most likely to stall. If it does, start with two and add one app at a time.
(15)
Step 15 of 15 · Optional

Put them all in one place

One link with a menu down the side, so you can jump between every dashboard you built.

Build me a "Command Center": one page with a menu down the left side that switches between all the live dashboards I've built. Open Morning Cockpit first. Keep one design across every tab so it feels like one app.

My dashboards: Inbox Command Center, Revenue Pulse, Churn vs. Retention, Profit and Cash, Calendar Time Audit, Pipeline Pulse, AI Visibility Scorecard, Morning Cockpit.
1
Edit the list at the bottom to match the dashboards you actually built.
✓

Your dashboards are live

Open them with your coffee. They pull fresh numbers every time.

✓ Two settings turned on
✓ Gmail connected and set to Always allow
✓ Inbox Command Center built and checked
✓ Your next dashboards picked and built
✓ All of them in one Command Center
